RiverAcademy is designed for you - a future environmental leader

RiverAcademy is an interactive learning platform designed for those who want to become leaders in their field. RiverAcademy will expand your knowledge and enable you to be recognised for having that knowledge in the form of a verifiable digital credential, also known as a digital badge.

What is a Digital Badge?

A fresh way to showcase your skills and achievement.

Digital badges are like super-powered stickers, displaying a validated achievement or skill that can be showcased on your LinkedIn profile or CV. Representing your skills as a badge gives you a way to share your abilities online in a way that is simple, trusted and can be easily verified in real time. Badges provide employers and peers concrete evidence of what you had to do to earn your credential and what you’re now capable of.

Resilient Rivers Badge Pathway

Follow our Resilient Rivers pathway or create your own - the choice is yours!

  • Online Course

Complete the Resilient Rivers and Leadership courses, in addition to one course of your choice. On the completion of the three courses you will be awarded the River Steward Badge and will be eligible for the mentor program.

  • Mentor Program

The mentor program is all about unlocking your potential to maximise your performance and impact for the river basins you work with. This can be done through a face-to-face program or via e-mentoring online. The River Guardian badge will be awarded after a minimum of 10 hours in the program is completed.

  • River Challenge or Project

The final step is to learn by taking part in an actionable project or a river challenge such as a bankable project or a twinning project. Once all three stages (online course, mentor program, and river challenge) have been completed, the final River Leader badge is awarded.
